The Economic Policy Interest Group will sponsor a public meeting called “Current Perspectives on United States’ Trade and Economic Policy, in Franklin Roosevelt Tradition” on August 9 at 6:45. This huge meeting will take place at the Cleveland Park Public Library (3310 Connecticut Ave NW).
Lori Wallach and Alphecca Muttardy are scheduled to speak at this meeting. Wallach has 25 years of experience in congressional trade battles, including the 1990s fight over NAFTA. Wallach is a world-renowned trade expert. She has tons of experience in advocating in Congress and foreign affairs, trade negotiations, courts, government agencies, the media, and the streets. Wallach is published in the Washington Post, New York Times, The Economist, Forbes, USA Today, and many other publications.
Muttardy, a professional macroeconomist, has a strong background in global and national budgeting. She co-authored a report for the National Bureau of Economic Research entitled, “Commodity Prices and Inflation: Evidence from Seven Large Industrial Countries.”
