Georgetown resident Gussie Johns, a rising junior at the University of Southern California, is currently playing in England for Team USA in the 2017 FIL Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup.

Team USA has won seven of the nine world cups, which are played every four years.

Johns, who played in high school for St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes in Alexandria, had already seen action in three of the team’s four games as of The Current’s deadline. As of Tuesday, Team USA had posted a 4-0 record in pool play.

The world cup concludes on Saturday. All of the games are being streamed online at vsstream.com/worldcup.
