Police arrested a Northwest man last week in connection with a homicide that took place Nov. 7 in Brightwood and are looking for a second suspect in the case.
Officers responded to reported gunshots in the 1300 block of Rittenhouse Street NW at about 8:15 p.m. and found two victims with gunshot wounds in a rear alley, according to a Metropolitan Police Department news release. Yoselis Regino Barrios, 16, died at a hospital; the second victim, an adult male, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Last Wednesday, detectives arrested 20-year-old Kevin Sorto and charged him with first-degree murder while armed. Police are still looking for a second suspect facing the same charge: Victor Hernandez, 17, described as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
