Citizens Association of Georgetown: Aug. 16, 2017

The West Heating Plant is a vacant industrial building at 29th and K streets NW. (Brian Kapur/The Current/April 2015)

The West Heating Plant is back in the news. The design for the West Heating Plant has been revised to emphasize louvers that create an interesting pattern on the sides of the building. The Levy Group will make a presentation at the Sept. 6 meeting of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2E (Georgetown, Burleith). The members of our association’s board and the Historic Preservation/Zoning Committee have not received a design or concept plan for the new modification of the West Heating Plant, but we expect that the association will receive plans prior to the ANC 2E presentation.

There are other noteworthy updates for activities sponsored by the Citizens Association of Georgetown for this fall. Trees for Georgetown is holding its fundraiser on Sept. 10, and the association gala is set for Oct. 21 at the Four Seasons. We hope that the last weeks of August will be restful and enjoyable. Cheers!
